City of Mesa homeowners that pay for residential solid waste services have the ability to use the Salt River Landfill once per month for a nominal fee. Residents must present an original or a copy of their City of Mesa utility bill showing your solid waste fee for the current or previous month, and a valid picture identification card with a name and/or address matching the utility bill.  For your convenience, if you dispose of less than 2,000 pounds, which is one (1) ton or less, a charge of $15.00 is added to your next month's City of Mesa utility bill.  IMPORTANT NOTE:  If your load weighs more than 2,000 pounds or one (1) ton, you will be required to pay the full gate rate ($60 per ton, $70.00 per ton for rejected Green Waste) for the entire load.  No credit is given for the first 2,000 pounds.

Homeowners are responsible for surcharges related to uncovered loads, crushing, burial, or for appliances that contain freon. Additional rules and limits apply.
